Why Our Southern Family Dining Franchise is the Best Choice

Chances are pretty good that if you’ve considered opening your own breakfast franchise, other options have also been considered. Though you have many choices, we believe that ours is the best for a variety of reasons. Huddle House is a Southern family dining franchise unlike any other. With over 50 years of proven success, our iconic brand has withstood the test of time and offers a long-term, stable business model for our many franchise partners across the eastern United States.

Though we could talk about our iconic history to no end, we understand you want to weigh your options with some hard facts. So we invite you to compare us to our competitors, because we are fully confident you’ll find us to be the best option out of the bunch.

Waffle House

One of the brands that may come to mind as a breakfast franchise choice is Waffle House. There’s just one problem: Waffle House doesn’t offer franchises. While we both have “house” in our names, we are a very different kind of restaurant. Here are a few of the main differences:

  • Flexible seating - Huddle House provides flexible seating for large groups to gather together for a meal. Large groups equals large check transactions for our franchise partners.
  • Menu diversity - We have fryers for a broader menu that includes customer favorites like country fried steak and french fries, to please guests hungry for more than just hash browns.
  • Atmosphere - Huddle House’s new store design provides a warm, inviting atmosphere for people who want a good, sit-down meal that isn’t fast food. In small towns to larger suburban markets where we’re now expanding, Huddle House is that community gathering place that reminds customers of home.

IHOP and Denny’s

Our accessible buy-in is one of the primary reasons we are a more desirable investment option than IHOP or Denny’s. We require less than half the liquid capital to financially qualify. For either IHOP or Denny’s ownership, you must have full-service restaurant experience to qualify. Here's how we stack up against them:

  • Store size and cost – At 2,000 to 3,000 square feet, the Huddle House restaurant size is smaller than IHOP or Denny’s, which creates a more intimate dining experience for our guests, and more importantly, lessens development costs for our franchise partners. In fact, an IHOP or Denny’s can cost upwards of $2.5 million to open, not even including the cost of land.
  • Experience required - We don’t require that our franchise partners have a background in full-service restaurant management or ownership. We embrace investors from successful business backgrounds who have a plan for hiring the best management team to run their restaurants. We also accept diversifying QSR franchisees looking to expand their portfolios into the full-service side with a sit-down breakfast franchise.
  • Market availability – Neither IHOP nor Denny’s locates in smaller towns under 10,000 population. These communities have long been a sweet spot for Huddle House, where our franchise partners can “own” the market as one of the only sit-down dining options.

We are excited for you to become a part of our supportive diner franchise family! Reach out to us today at (770) 626-7286 to speak to one of our friendly team members.
