BASED ON A 10 WEEK CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE

Once your project has been approved by Huddle House, the real estate and construction process can begin.

The development process of a new Huddle House location will vary, as will the time it takes to be completed. The fluctuation is due to numerous factors including: type of construction, pre-existing building conditions, financing, governmental regulations, etc.  However, our average build time for an Evolution 2000 freestanding model is approximately 10 weeks.  This development model will be used here for review.

Phase 1
New Franchise Kick-off
Including Design & Orientation

Approx 26 Weeks Before Opening

This phase includes the concept design, development of the construction documents, Huddle House final plan review, permit submittal, bidding of construction plans, General Contractor (GC) selection, insurance, ordering signage, ordering equipment, and securing permit.

New Franchisee Orientation

All new Franchise Partners will attend an Orientation session where we will review:

  • Outline franchisee support provided
  • Discuss restaurant concept development process
  • Discuss franchise development timeline
  • Explain franchisor available resources
  • Conduct a construction document review

Concept Design & Approval

For freestanding prototype locations, Huddle House can provide the prototypical equipment and seating plan for use in development of the layout

Architect & Construction Bids

We recommend interviewing prospective construction and architecture teams.  Collecting anywhere from 3-5 bids can help manage the costs.

Franchise Site and/or Building Survey

Verify dimensions, electrical, mechanical and plumbing conditions and meet with the city and/or county to discuss requirements and permitting.

Phase 2 
Franchise CONSTRUCTION
& Operator Training

Approximately 12-14 Weeks Prior to Opening

This phase includes the construction of your restaurant, direct buys, utilities set-up, and setting up maintenance contracts. Also, this phase includes setting up accounts for miscellaneous vendor-supplied items and services. This is based on an estimated 10- week construction schedule. In parallel, the management team will be completing their MIT Training at a Certified Training Location.

FRANCHISE MANAGEMENT TRAINING BEGINS

While construction is being completed on your new Huddle House Franchise, our 8-week training program for managers kicks off.

Phase 3 
Construction Complete
Pre-opening Training

Approximately 2-3 Weeks Prior to Opening

This phase includes completing construction, hiring your hourly Team, POS set-up, the delivery of food and small-wares, pre-opening training, and final preparations for your opening day.

Hang your “Coming Soon” banner and roll up your sleeves, because we are about to get to work!  During this time you will make your first food order and take delivery.  Hire and train your new staff with the support of our training staff.
