Interview with Mike Millican: Winfield, Alabama, Huddle House Franchisee
Longtime Alabama State Representative opens second Huddle House breakfast franchise location
The people of Winfield, Alabama, can now get “Any meal. Any time,” at State Rep. Mike Millican’s new Huddle House location.
It is Mike’s second Huddle House breakfast franchise location, and he is excited to bring our 24-hour, family-friendly atmosphere to a town where there isn’t anything else like it.
“We’re proud of all the support we’ve gotten from our mayor and chamber of commerce,” Mike said on the day of his grand opening. “They seem to have really warmed to Huddle House. They haven’t had anything open up before that is 24 hours a day. We’re here for them.”
Mike’s enthusiasm for our brand is apparent when he talks about the first location he opened — more than a decade ago and a few towns over:
“The restaurant in Hamilton is doing great,” Mike says. “It would have to be doing great, or I wouldn’t have opened the second one!”
We’re growing in Winfield, Alabama, and everywhere else
With the opening of his second Huddle House breakfast franchise, Mike joins our plans for tremendous growth around the country. We have more than 400 restaurants open or under development, and our 51-year-old franchise is growing well beyond its original core market in the Southeast and into markets in the Midwest and Northeast. Throughout the first eight months of 2015, the Huddle House franchise signed 23 new franchise locations across 10 states.
On top of the rapid expansion already under way, we recently announced that we plan to open another 100 Huddle House locations around the country. To realize our vision, we are expanding our franchise development staff to support an aggressive campaign designed to significantly increase the number of our locations over the next three years.
We’ve been making people happy since 1962
When you ask Mike what he loves to eat when he visits his Huddle House breakfast franchise locations, he answers, “Breakfast is my favorite food.”
“Huddle House seems to be a step above the other franchises,” he says. “The food and the atmosphere also seemed to be a step above the competition.”
Mike is absolutely right. Ever since we opened our doors in 1962, our core values of serving quality food in a warm, friendly environment that brings the community together have remained intact.
