Building a
COViD-19
Resilient Business
Huddle House was founded in 1964, and our breakfast diner opportunity for investors took off not long after. We’ve weathered many economic ups and downs throughout our time in business. COVID-19 isn’t the first, and it won’t be the last. Entrepreneurs today are especially interested in building COVID-19 resilient businesses, and establishing a recession-proof system now will pay off again in the future. Here, learn about some of the ways Huddle House has stayed competitive – even during recessions.

A Pick-Up Window Franchise
Huddle House is famous as a sit-down restaurant and community gathering place where friends and neighbors can get together. Unfortunately, the pandemic has made it more difficult for our regular customers to enjoy the classic Huddle House experience. However, they haven’t had to forego the meals they love.
We’ve established ourselves as a popular pick-up window franchise during the pandemic. Customers can call into our restaurants directly to pick up meals to-go. Or, they can choose any of the third-party delivery apps we’ve partnered with (like DoorDash and Grubhub).
These options have proven so popular that we’re exploring even more ways to help customers enjoy the Huddle House fare they love. Ask us about the development underway to make Huddle House a competitive drive through window franchise! Drive throughs have proven especially popular during the pandemic because they allow customers to enjoy the food they love while still social distancing. They also allow customers to get their food quickly, making them popular with on-the-go diners everywhere. We’re excited to incorporate this feature into the Huddle House model!
Expanding Our Family Dining Options
Huddle House is famous for being a family restaurant, and we want families to continue to enjoy our meals during the pandemic. That’s why we introduced services like:
- Family Meals: Great family-size meals perfectly portioned and packaged for simple pickup.
- Huddle Market: Customers can pick up regular grocery items at our location for affordably low prices, allowing them to minimize time spent running errands in public places.

Meeting and Exceeding Local Safety Guidelines
Safety has been at the forefront of everyone’s mind lately, and different states and communities have distinct regulations. Huddle House has been doing our part to make our guests and employees feel safe through measures such as social-distancing, frequent/proper handwashing, sanitizing surfaces frequently, and paying exceptional high attention to all food-safety standards.
These are just a few of the ways Huddle House has adapted to stay competitive during COVID-19. Our franchisees can be sure that we’ll continue finding new ways to drive customers to their businesses now and in the future.
