Our Ideal

What We Look for In Our Franchise Partners

For over 50 years, Huddle House has been delivering warm meals and countless memories. A huge part of what has made us an iconic brand is our people. When it comes to our franchise partners, we want to make sure we find the perfect fit that will benefit them, us, and most of all, our guests. Our franchise model accommodates multiple investment scenarios:

  • Serial restaurateurs
  • Diversifying franchisees of non-competitive brands
  • Single-unit investors looking to break into food service

Huddle House franchise owners run the gamut from hometown entrepreneurs to multi-unit investors. The common story among them is past business success, a history of leadership, and passion for serving their communities.

Many franchise concepts require a commitment to open multiple locations. We are happy to embrace both single and multi-unit owners.

Our franchise partners chose Huddle House with a desire to:

  • Build a business with the hands-on support of an experienced team
  • Improve their hometowns with a needed neighborhood gathering place
  • Diversify an existing business portfolio with a stable brand
  • Create a legacy business and financial success for their families
  • Scale up to multiple units and lock in protected territories

We believe there’s room for everyone at the table. Huddle House is a legacy brand and a model that has been proven for over five decades to meet and exceed the goals of our franchise partners. Many owners have been in the system for longer than their initial 15-year agreement term and even passed down their restaurants to multiple generations.

Meet Our Franchise Partners

Robert Wiggins Jr. opened a new Huddle House location in 2015, but the concept wasn’t exactly new to him. Some 25 years prior, Wiggins and his father had built the first Huddle House in Hazlehurst, Georgia, only to sell the location after several years. Wiggins subsequently invested in various food franchises, but when he heard that Hazlehurst was once again without a Huddle House after the original location closed, he jumped at the chance.

The experienced foodservice franchise owner, who owns franchises with Pizza Inn, Dick’s Wings, Checkers, and Arby’s, is so pleased with the direction of our brand and the community reception to the new Hazlehurst location that he quickly expanded to two additional locations. Huddle House does big things for little towns, thriving in places that other restaurant chains reject as too small.

11 Units in 3 Years

Moiez “Mike” Lokhandwala joined the restaurant business when he first moved to the U.S. from Bangalore, India, in 2002, taking a job as a cook at a Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuits franchise. He worked his way up to management at a Church’s Chicken franchise, then ultimately joined the ranks of franchise ownership by building eight Church’s franchises in the Atlanta, Georgia, market and Wing Stop franchises in Florida. When looking for ways to diversify his portfolio into smaller markets with less competition, he found Huddle House.

After acquiring his first Huddle House location in Valdosta, Georgia, Lokhandwala was impressed with the supportive leadership from the Huddle House team, and more importantly, with our ability through the in-house supply chain to drive the lowest food costs out of all his brands. Only three years later, Lokhandwala has eleven Huddle House restaurants across south Georgia and Florida, with commitments to open more.
