Deal means expanded reach, good discounts for Huddle House franchisees.
There aren’t a ton of great dining options on the road. That’s why it made perfect sense for Huddle House to partner with Pilot Travel Centers, LLC for a multi-unit agreement to open new restaurants in four states.
The agreement will put Huddle House restaurants in Pilot Travel Centers in Frystown, Pa.; Anna, Tx.; Fargo, N.D.; and New Haven and Lebanon, In.
Pilot Travel Centers, LLC, is headquartered in Knoxville, Tn., and has more than 550 retail locations across North America. Pilot Travel Centers, LLC is also one of the nation’s largest wholesale fuel providers, delivering more than 500 million gallons of fuel in 47 states and eight Canadian provinces.
The first of a five-store deal opened in spring 2012 in Frystown, off Interstate 78 near the state capital of Harrisburg, Pa. Expanding our restaurants into travel centers is beneficial for Huddle House because it provides additional traffic flow and a demographic that connects well with the iconic brand, from the quick, friendly service to the homestyle menu and “Any Meal. Any Time.” philosophy.
Atlanta-based Huddle House, with more than 400 units across the country, was founded in 1964 as a gathering place for small communities and a 24-hour concept that serves homestyle cooking with a side of Southern hospitality. The brand also does well in the travel segment. Signing franchise agreements with Pilot Travel Centers made perfect sense not only for the company, but for individual franchise owners as well.
Developing the Huddle House brand in travel centers typically involves a much lower initial investment than traditional freestanding restaurants. The expanded presence serves to strengthen the brand overall while still in keeping with our core values.
Known for our wide variety of comfort food and 24-hour service, Huddle House developed several new products exclusively for the travel centers to appeal to a broader clientele base. The Big Rig Menu features such options as Specialty Pancake Plates and the Turnpike Breakfast Burger, which appeals to professional drivers as well as nearby residents and also allows Huddle House to maintain its tradition of quick service.
By introducing a new interior design package featuring flexible seating options, larger booths and a warmer color palate in 2011, Huddle House is well equipped to provide a one-stop option for all of its traveling guests.
The core values on which Huddle House was founded in 1964 — serving quality food in a warm, friendly environment that brings the community together — remain intact today. Typically open 24 hours, Huddle House serves any meal, anytime.
