Industry site showcases Mike Millican, a multi-unit Huddle House franchisee and state representative.
An Alabama State Representative was recently featured in an article on RestaurantNews.com after opening his second Huddle House. Mike Millican is a franchisee with stores in Hamilton and Winfield, Alabama. He has been a Huddle House diner franchise owner since he sold his tractor dealership more than a decade ago.
Making the switch to Huddle House was a good business move, Mike says.
“It’s a perfect fit for the community,” Mike tells RestaurantNews.com. “Huddle House is a step above other dining locations. As we found in Hamilton, the core values of serving quality food in a warm, friendly environment that brings the community together creates the type of gathering place that attracts customers of all ages.”
Mike’s Winfield, Alabama, location seats 74 customers and is part of our brand “Evolution,” a widespread campaign to remodel and upgrade our iconic stores.
The 24-hour, Southern-inspired family restaurant franchise is known for serving affordable, unapologetically home-style food in a warm, friendly environment. Huddle House locations are often beloved gathering places in their communities, places where residents and travelers can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner any time of the day or night. With more than 400 restaurants open and under development, the 51-year-old franchise is growing well beyond its original core market in the Southeast and into markets in the Midwest and Northeast.
New owner finds niche with Huddle House culture
“Huddle House is a 50-year-old, iconic brand,” says CEO Michael Abt. “We have a unique approach in serving nostalgic comfort food with an authentic Southern hospitality. Team members get to know customers, treat them kindly, and go to extra lengths to make sure they enjoy their visit. Mike is that type of diner franchise owner who makes Huddle House that friendly place where neighbors and people from out of town like to be.”
