The Huddle House breakfast franchise has been bringing people together for more than 50 years.
The Huddle House breakfast franchise has been bringing families and friends together since our founder John Sparks first witnessed a group of boys gathering after football practice in his restaurant in 1964. When Sparks saw the boys laughing and joking — “huddling up,” over a meal — the iconic community restaurant franchise was born.
Since then, the brand has made a commitment to reach as many people as possible. With more than 400 restaurants open and under development, the 51-year-old franchise is growing well beyond its original core market in the Southeast and into markets in the Midwest and Northeast. We have been growing so rapidly that we recently expanded our franchise sales staff to support an aggressive development campaign designed to significantly increase the number of our locations over the next three years.
Huddle House breakfast franchise has a presence in communities
Huddle House is a 24-hour, Southern-inspired family restaurant franchise that is known for serving affordable, unapologetically homestyle food in a warm, friendly environment. Huddle House locations are often beloved gathering places in their communities, places where residents and travelers can get breakfast, lunch and dinner any time of the day or night.
We are a 51-year-old breakfast franchise where people celebrate the important milestones in their lives — whether that means a Little League victory or being grateful to have your family with you for Sunday brunch.
Our Southern hospitality is known and far and wide, and our customer service doesn’t end when our customers pick up their check. Our breakfast franchise owners make it a point to give back to their communities.
“We pick different businesses once a week where we take sausage and biscuits to them, or a cake or a pie,” says Rance Reese, a franchisee with two Huddle House locations in Georgia. “We just show up and try to make their day.” Other franchises sponsor local sports teams or find other ways to invest in their communities.
What makes a great Huddle House franchise owner?
Huddle House franchise owners go above and beyond in treating their customers well. Our guests feel welcomed the moment they walk in; there are no strangers at a Huddle House. We pride ourselves on our unique brand of Southern hospitality, and we’re looking for franchisees who embrace our core values.
Some owners want to set up a Huddle House in their own community so folks will have a place they can call their favorite restaurant, right in their own hometowns. In the case of Barry Robinson, the owner of a newly opened breakfast franchise in Hahira, Georgia, the idea of bringing Huddle House to his hometown after spending two decades as a customer was a dream come true.
“From an entrepreneurial perspective, there was a need to be filled in the Hahira community,” Barry says. “This new Huddle House gives the Hahira community something they haven’t had before — a 24-hour, full-service restaurant with an expansive menu serving any meal, any time.”
The core values on which Huddle House was founded — providing a comfortable local place for everyday people who want freshly prepared homestyle foods, especially their favorite breakfast foods, served with friendly personal service — remain intact today and will reach many more communities in the years to come.
