We opened breakfast restaurant franchises in new markets across 14 states, added 36 development agreements in Fiscal Year 2017 and plan to finish out the calendar year with over 400 Huddle House restaurants open or in development. Nearly a third of this year’s record-breaking growth is due to our existing franchisees taking advantage of our financial incentives to open additional units.

Huddle House is frequently ranked on the lists of best franchises in trade publications that cover franchising and the restaurant industry. We strive for excellence in everything we do, from training our franchise partners to execute our systems to providing the timely support they need to consistently deliver on our brand’s promise.
Earlier this fall, Huddle House won the IFA 2017 FranTech Innovation Award for Franchise Development. The accolade, awarded by the prestigious International Franchise Association, was given to Huddle House in recognition of our growth strategies. Fiscal Year 2017 was a record-breaking development year for our diner franchise chain, with 36 new locations added to our over 400-unit brand. Thanks to various financial incentives, almost a third of those locations were added by current franchisees.
Building on our breakfast restaurant franchise legacy
We’ve been in the breakfast business since our first restaurant opened in 1964. Along the way, we’ve built a reputation for serving delicious comfort food for every daypart at a good value that our guests are drawn to. Under the leadership of CEO Michael Abt and our Executive Team of experienced franchisors, we’ve been steering our iconic brand in some exciting new directions.
Earlier this year, we opened our first Huddle House in a hotel, co-branded with a Days Inn franchise in East Stroudsburg, PA. It is the first of what we hope will be many partnerships with hotel franchises. We are also joining forces with owners of travel centers and C-stores, and we continue to perform well in small communities that other restaurant franchises overlook.

Our flexible footprint means more investment opportunities are available, especially as we expand into new markets. We have grown in our traditional territory in the South and broken into the Northeast, including Maryland and New Jersey, as well as the Midwest and Southwest. We’re looking for new opportunities in suburbs around larger metropolitan areas including Cincinnati, Nashville and Pittsburgh.
