The Next 5 Years and Our Next 100 Units

Where Huddle House is building our next breakfast franchises, and how you can still get in on a good opportunity.

We’ve been among the nation’s favorite breakfast franchises for more than 50 years, but we’re not resting on our laurels. We’ve set a goal to build out the Huddle House brand by adding another 100 locations in the next five years.

One of our strengths as a brand has always been that we perform well in areas where other brands decline to go. Part of our growth strategy moving forward has been to study the areas where our brand is needed, where history shows it can be successful and where we know we can make a big impact on a community.

“We’re targeting areas where Denny’s and IHOP won’t go,” says Christina Chambers, Vice President of Franchise Development. “We’ve been examining areas with the highest potential for the most reward. These are often small, tight-knit communities with a hospitable culture looking for a gathering spot. They really need a sit-down restaurant. And the real estate costs are typically more reasonable for our franchisees’ investment than in metro areas.”

Southern hospitality that works anywhere

Huddle House is a Southern brand known for our 24-hour service, our Southern hospitality and serving up great comfort food at even better values. We’re also known for our “Any Meal. Any Time.” offering, and breakfast is a perennial favorite with our guests. Breakfast items account for more than half our sales and are available all day, which is good news for franchise owners, too, since breakfast foods typically have higher profit margins than food traditionally served in other dayparts.

Our plan is to continue growing, but to do so in a way that’s smart — we’re making sure all of our support systems for franchise owners and our ability to provide the best possible guest experience are never compromised along the way. While small towns are a specialty, we also perform well in urban areas and suburbs, too. As we target our ideal locations for expansion, we use sophisticated tools to analyze the real estate, the demographics and the psychographics to make sure we’ve drawn a thorough picture of how the people in these territories live, work and play.

“We look for a mix of low competition and high density of our core customers, people who love our food and love our mix of quality offerings at a value price in a place where the community can gather together,” Chambers says.
